Over the holidays we wrapped up our crowdfunding project for the graduate student support fund. Thanks to your gifts, we exceeded our goal of $5,000. With over $6,000, we will be able to provide medical expense relief to more students in 2017, and launch an emergency loan program for students with financial need. We are in the process of drafting policies and procedures for this new program, and will offer a first round of emergency loans in min-2017.

We could not offer these support funds without your generous gifts. Thank you to all who donated! We are looking forward to an exciting year ahead as we aim to improve the support we offer graduate students at UAB.

We're coming to the end of our project, and we want to thank you all for your support as we prepare for an exciting spring semester. Our student support fundraiser will wrap up with the new year, but we still have time to reach our goal!  Also, thanks to a generous offer by the President's Office, all gifts will be matched up to $2500 in this final push. Now is the time to double your impact!

As we go into the last week of our project we have exciting news, and a great opportunity. The President's Office has generously offered to match each gift that is made to the project during our final push. So, each gift that is made between now and when the ball drops on New Year's Eve will be doubled! 

This is our chance to make an even greater impact in the life of a UAB Graduate Student who could use just a little help in making it through a difficult time so that their academic aspirations come to fruition.  Make a gift, make another gift, and share the project via social media, email, word-of-mouth, text, Morse code or even carrier pigeon! We only have a little over $1,600 to hit our $5,000 goal. Details regarding the match:  Matching funds are being pledged from the Dr. Watt's and the UAB President's Office. Each gift made to the Graduate Student Medical Assistance Fund / Loan Program​ project from 12/23 to 12/31 will be match 1:1, up to $2,500 in total.
